Letting Go

Nearly two weeks ago I woke up with a fever and was sofa bound for a couple of days. Which if you have children, CAN BE SO HARD!  I had to pull myself together to get my daughter off to junior kindergarten and then literally had to rely on the TV to entertain my two year old while I slept.

It’s so ironic because the last Chick Chat session that I shot (which is my talk show with two other entrepreneurs in Toronto) we talked about Winter Blues and I said I didn’t even go there. That I couldn’t. And Sonya, one of my co-hosts basically said that I needed to give my body permission to go there, to be sick, if I needed to. It’s like she gave my body permission.  I woke up THE NEXT MORNING with a fever and it knocked me on my ass!

In any case it’s been nearly two weeks since the fever and you can still hear illness in my voice but I am feeling so much better.  Unfortunately both my kids also got fevers and it's been a crazy couple of weeks, but we are on the mend and looking forward to a healthier tomorrow.

I do think it’s important to remind ourselves that it’s okay to let something go if we need to. I wasn't physically able to record my podcast last weekend.  And I was disappointed. But i decided that I needed to let that go.  Without explanation. We need to honor how we’re feeling first and show up when we can be authentic and genuine without expectation.

Expectation is the wrong way to do things.

And that goes for our children too. We need to first honor our family. We might be disappointed to miss out on something - big or small, but we always need to remember to trust how we feel, trust how our children feel and do things from a place of love.

Have a beautiful week!

And take the time to listen if you can!  Today's podcast is super short!!
