Two Kinds Of People

I was taking my dog Pax for a walk the other day and as I stopped to take in the fresh air and feel the warm sun on my face, I thought…

Life can essentially be broken down into two kinds of people.

The kind of person that likes to walk the dog and the kind of person who doesn’t (who may or may not be a dog owner).

And both are exactly perfect. (Unless there`s a dog that isn’t getting walked at all! Because exercise is important for everyone ;))

But what I mean by this, is, I love walking my dog.

I love hiking with my dog, I love going for a jog with my dog and I love knowing that I am a responsible dog owner who steps it up when needed. We’ve recently gone from walking Pax twice a day to three or four. And I know sometimes my partner Deryk sees this as a pain in the ass but I actually embrace it. Most times it means I’m getting out of the house without the kids at least one of those times to just run free.

I LOVE that feeling of freedom.

And then there`s the kind of person who doesn’t love walking the dog. Instead they love to be warm and cozy at home.

And so here`s why it’s perfect. It works for us.

Instead of getting upset that Deryk isn’t taking the dog for a walk when he gets home from work, I can shift from annoyance, (I’ll admit that I’ve been annoyed by this in the past) to gratitude, and get outside for some fresh air and a little break from the kids. It gives me a chance to recharge in nature and then I can come home and share that energy with my family.

So maybe a silly little story, but hopefully one you can relate to in some way.

Remember, we all have our strengths and it’s important to focus on them. We all bring different things to the table. And in working together we can achieve more balance and harmony.

**Think abundance instead of lack ;)

Wishing you peace, balance, happiness, good health and love.
