Shifting Focus
With all the hoopla going on in this crazy world, it can feel almost necessary to buy into it all.
I’ve spoken with a few people who feel like the world is shutting down. And a dear friend is trying to convince me to take this more seriously than I am. Especially with the additional risk associated with my 4 year old daughter, Quinn, with diabetes.
I know personally, I feel like I’m in a movie, and we’re being tested to see just how much we can take.
But this is real. And I get it.
And I will take it seriously. But I am not going to worry.
Instead of focusing my energy on worry, I’m going to shift my focus to my health. And the health of my loved ones.
I’ll use affirmations like these… “I am grateful for my health and the health of my children”…. “I appreciate all that I can accomplish with my good health” or “The health of my family and loved ones is exceptional”. Bring focus to thoughts like these as often as you can.
While fear is perhaps a normal response…financial concerns…emotional…please don’t give in to the panic. Both are a part of the lack mentality..and .that’s what you’re doing when you rush to buy 2 months worth of toilet paper. I know you want to be prepared. I do too. But it’s giving more energy to fear and lack and it’s opposite from the energy we want.
Coming from an abundance mentality means that we’re focussing on our health instead. So we’re being mindful to fuel our bodies with nutrient dense foods. And we’re getting enough sleep. And we’re drinking lots of water (even if you’d rather drink wine!). And we’re practicing giving gratitude for all the things we have. Including our health.
Take precautions, sure. Wash your hands diligently and cough or sneeze into your arm. And be mindful about where you’re spending your time and with whom. Meditate with intention for peace, balance and good health. Do some deep breathing. All of these measures will ensure your stress levels stay down.
Also stay home if you have a cold or feel under the weather. But don’t barricade your home. Nothing is going to seep through your doors, I promise. (my children actually asked me this!!)
Let’s not be afraid. And let’s not be worried. Instead let’s be mindful, appreciative for our health and overall grateful for life.
We’re all in this together.
Let’s stay together in peace and love and rise above the craziness.
This is, after all, temporary. And not to minimize what’s going on…but this is just another obstacle we have the ability to handle. We’re strong, we’re resilient and we’re capable of handling more than we realize.
