Blitz Baby!

I’m trying something new. A friend calls it the 20 minute blitz, but somehow I like to think in increments of 15 minutes, so I’ve adjusted it to work for me. But it’s the same concept. Give yourself 15 minutes to accomplish something that would take you longer if you let it.

The idea is to set a timer and then go! So for example, you clean the kitchen as fast as you can and get as many dishes put away within 15 minutes as you can. Once the timer stops, you do. I also have started using the 15 minute blitz for exercise and have been adding a body flow type workout to my mornings, incorporating Yoga and Pilates. I’m usually up for more of a high intensity workout, but recognize that my body needs me to slow down a little. Doing body flow for just 15 minutes makes it achievable for me.

Whatever your goal, if you break it down into a 15 minute blitz, I’m sure that you too will find that you’re more easily able to focus on the task at hand and check things off your list of obligations more efficiently.

I think it’s also an important reminder that there will always be things to clean. And there will always be a to-do list. And while I do believe that everything has a place, I also can take a deep breath and relax knowing that if it doesn’t get done right now, I will make the time for it later. Maybe even with another 15 minute blitz!

Try it! It’s actually kind of fun!
