Capacity

You’re stronger than you realize.

Whatever it is that you’re currently going through, know that you are not alone, and that you’re braver than you know.

We all have a story to share. A story others may know about, or one they may never know. Whatever you choose to share is your choice. But let’s check in with how you’re feeling.

How are you handling your situation? Are you frazzled or stressed? Are you engaging in a negative habit? Are you so worried about taking care of others that you’re not taking proper care of yourself?

We all have the capacity to push ourselves forward.

We all have the ability to get a handle on our situation so that it becomes a part of our day and not our whole entire life.

In my own life personally, things are a bit upside down right now. I’m not ready to go into detail, but I will say that it’s a big deal and that it’s on top of having a 4 year old with diabetes, raising 2 young girls and dealing with a puppy with an alpha male complex. For real. There’s a lot going on right now.

But no matter what, I know that I have the capacity to handle whatever life throws at me.

How do I know? Because I make sure to check in with myself. I make sure to take care of myself. I know that I have a ton of control over how this life goes. And I know and trust it’s all happening this way for a reason.

It all starts from within. With a positive mindset, a healthy body and a willingness to be open to change.

Here are a few things that I do regularly that can help you handle life a little easier…

1. Read. Find a book that resonates with you about positive thinking. When we change the way we think about something, it can change the outcome. Our thoughts shape our reality and having a positive mindset can make a world of difference.

2. Get some exercise!! Start to get excited about exercise. Celebrate that you can move your body. Physical activity is really a “not-so-secret” secret to feeling better in your own skin...not to mention what physical exercise can do for you mentally. My body craves a workout. My bones need it! And my brain feels better after a workout too! I always walk away from a workout feeling stronger and more capable. I recently made a commitment to myself to do two classes a week at the gym. I knew I was stuck, and as I truly believe, I have the capacity to push myself harder, so I am.

3. Eat Healthier. What are things that you could add to your diet so you can feel more energized? (A salad a day to start is easy enough). Or what can you take out of your diet to start living healthier? “We are what we eat” is such a true statement. Especially as a mom of two young girls who rise with the birds, if I don’t get sufficient sleep, eating healthy saves me!

We all have the capacity to get through whatever life throws at us. We all have the capacity to do better. To be better. To push ourselves harder. To love harder. To be stronger. To face our fears. To choose a different life.

Tell yourself you can do anything, and then show yourself the way. You have the capacity.

Wishing you peace, balance, happiness, vibrant health and lasting love.
